Salicylic and citric acid as promising new stimulants for resin tapping in maritime pine (Pinus pinaster Ait.)

چکیده

Aim of the study: We tested alternative active principles to most widely used resin tapping stimulant which contains sulphuric acid. also studied effect wounding in five-year-old Pinus pinaster seedlings with a microtapping method.Area The experiment was carried out at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid Spain.Material and Methods: consisted six treatments: control (no no wounding), wound stimulant), pines stimulated acid, ethrel, salicylic acid citric evaluated yield differentiating between released internal (resin retained within xylem), physiological status tree.Main Results: Wounded plants produced on average three times more than plants. Plants acids showed highest 15% those mainly because higher. Tree diameter affected thicker trees resin. did not observe any significant treatments stomatal conductance only marginal (p<0.10) water potential.Research highlights: Salicylic seem be promising stimulants for activity further field experiments adult trees. Keywords: acid; ethrel; pine resin; microtapping; wounding; potential; conductance.Abbreviations used: TR: total content; RR: IR: gs: conductance; Ψleaf: midday leaf potential.

Evidence for an operative glutamine translocator in chloroplasts from maritime pine (Pinus pinaster Ait.) cotyledons.

In higher plants, ammonium is assimilated into amino acids through the glutamine synthetase (GS)/glutamate synthase (GOGAT) cycle. This metabolic cycle is distributed in different cellular compartments in conifer seedlings: glutamine synthesis occurs in the cytosol and glutamate synthesis within the chloroplast. A method for preparing intact chloroplasts of pine cotyledons is presented with the...

Genetic control of pulp and timber properties in maritime pine (Pinus pinaster Ait.)

Wood is one of our most important natural resources and has been exploited for many hundreds of years as fuel, building material and a source of paper. Its composition is variable among and within species. The ability to monitor the intra-specific variability is a prerequisite to improve wood and end-products properties. This paper describes a study of the genetic control of a large set of wood...

Compression wood-responsive proteins in developing xylem of maritime pine (Pinus pinaster ait.).

When a conifer shoot is displaced from its vertical position, compression wood (CW) is formed on the under side and can eventually return the shoot to its original position. Changes in cell wall structure and chemistry associated with CW are likely to result from differential gene/protein expression. Two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of differentiating xylem proteins was combin...
